TORQUE CURVES
in a graph, clinical quality and safety

WHAT ARE THEY?

Graphs expressing the mechanical force exerted by the micromotor during operation.
When Implantor Brushless micromotors are applied on Logos and Duo dental units, the torque output at every instant is displayed on the dental unit monitor or on the connected PC, eventually forming a curve of all the torque values from the beginning to the end of the procedure: the torque curve

WHAT IS THEIR PURPOSE?

Implant Surger
An instrumental indication as to the quality of bone tissue at the implant site, useful for deciding insertion procedures and load times.
- High curves are indicative of high bone density. The precise application of standard protocols leads to optimal insertion, as attested by a curve with high tightening torque values.
- Low curves are indicative of low bone density. Clinical tests have shown that by eliminating the last two preparatory drilling operations (adaptive protocol) it is possible to achieve a tight fit and good primary stability even in low-density or reconstructed bone tissue

Endodontics
An instant instrumental indication as to the resistance against the penetration of endodontic files in the root canal.
When the torque approaches the set threshold, beyond which the risks of the file breaking would increase to an unacceptable degree, the situation is signalled by the rising of the torque line and a progressive acoustic warning: this allows work to be performed safely and reduces the risks of jamming or breakage of the delicate root canal files.
